We Are RAD Fencing Club!

Newly formed at the beginning of 2024, our mission is to cultivate a vibrant community of fencers, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the sport of fencing, in the Rugby and Daventry area. Through expert coaching, inclusive training, and a commitment to sportsmanship we aim to inspire passion skill and camaraderie among our members.

Our club accepts both junior and adult beginners, with juniors classes open to children aged 8 and up, and classes are given focusing on epee, the modern descendent of the traditional duellist’s weapon.

Our sessions run on Monday evenings in Daventry Leisure Centre, Friday evenings in St Augustine’s, Daventry, and Saturday mornings in Warwickshire Technology College, Rugby.

We can also provide taster sessions and courses to schools in the local area. Please contact us for further information.

Fees and joining information

We are accepting new members aged 8 and over – including adults! Please use the link above to complete our beginners’ form, and we will be in touch shortly. On Saturdays we run 6 week beginner courses; our Monday session is a bit less formally structured as it is newer and smaller.

Fees are £28/month for U18 members, and £32/month for adults, payable by standing order. Visiting/ad-hoc fencers pay £10 per session and must have their own kit (unless agreed with us in advance to borrow club equipment).

A discounted rate is available for those in receipt of family tax credit / universal credit family allowance – please enquire for details if this applies to you.

Supporting Organisations

We are grateful to Rugby Borough Council for the initial seed funding which has allowed us to get off the ground with a solid baseline of good quality equipment.

We also extend our thanks to Rugby Group Benevolent Fund who have provided further support, allowing us to expand at a pace that matches the interest in our fledgeling club.
