Beginners
We have classes for beginners on Saturdays in Rugby, and on Mondays in Daventry, available to those aged 8 or over. Please fill out our enquiry form and we will be in touch shortly. Here’s what to expect:
- We will let you know when a space is coming up in a beginners’ class (there is usually a beginners’ class each half term), and provide you a membership form to complete
- Complete and return the form to us and pay for the course in advance (currently £54 for 6 sessions)
- Sign up to the “Introduction” membership of British Fencing (90 day free membership)
- After your course is finished we will invite you to become a member of the club
- We will provide all the specialist equipment required – no need to buy anything up front, just come in regular indoor sports kit (long trousers/leggings, not shorts please)
Members’ sessions / experienced fencers
Fencers who have completed a beginner’s course, or have at least equivalent experience, can become a member of the club for £28/mo (U18) or £32/mo (18+). Members’ sessions run on Fridays 19:00-20:30 in Daventry, and Saturdays 09:00-10:30 (small fencers approx U11) or 10:00-11:30 (older/more experienced) in Rugby. Please contact contact@radfencingclub.co.uk to enquire about availability, as some sessions are quite full. You must hold a valid British Fencing membership.
Sparring
Non club members who hold a valid British Fencing membership can take part in our Saturday 10:00 session via the Pay-as-you-go page. This is also open to visiting fencers from another country, provided that you hold valid insurance (please put your own association’s membership number, or other insurance ID, in the box for BF membership number).
At present we only have epeeists in the club (though this is not intended to be exclusive – if a group of foilists/sabreurs wished to join please do get in touch).
